FIRSTSEMESTER: 

 

CREATING A STORY

  - Brainstorming a variety of stories that will be of interest to our audience;       

          (i.e., high school students, teachers and staff.)

  - Creating opportunities for the teams to experience  a variety of story  types.

          (i.e., World / National news, Local news, East High School News, Sports,  Activities, 

          Humor, etc.)

FILMING AND EDITING

 - Filming with HD cameras; 

     - Writing and filming interviews

     - Filming B-Roll to support the information

     - Creating voice- over audio for story

     - Editing it all together 

 

 

ANCHOR DESK

   - Writing the script for the Anchors to introduce and segue between stories

    - Learning to read from and control a teleprompter 

 

 

WORKING AS A TEAM

  - Volunteering to help out another team if they need some help

                                           - Learning your strengths and weaknesses and how to ask for help                                           

 

 

 

SECONDSEMESTER:

 

WORKING TO FIND YOUR EXPERTISE

- Exploring more deeply two or three skill sets

- Continuing exploration of what makes a good story for this audience

- Experimenting with new technology to make the broadcast experience more exciting

- Exploring more ways to use audio and visual skills
